A while back, my husband and I started shooting on film cameras in our own time. Mostly, we just wanted to try something new, as we both have started our photography on digital. We loved the look of film and the idea grabbed hold of us.
There are several reasons we are enjoying it so much. The time it takes to take one shot, the knowledge that you have only 24 or 36 photos to work with, the excitement when you get a finished roll developed, seeing the photos again after actually forgetting that you shot them. The learning curve is so much slower on film than it was on digital, which gives me a bigger appreciation for the art.
On our 'Real Film' site, we just want to show a bit of what we learn and how our photography grows. We will be posting 2 or 3 times a month, one photo by me and one by my husband. With every roll of film that we finish and develop, we learn a little more. Click on the button below to share our journey!
